ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won a USD 71 million order from Steel Authority of India Limited to supply a sub-station package for its Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh.
The new high voltage sub-stations would enable the additional power supply needed to support a planned increase in the plant\'s annual production capacity from five million to seven million tons, the company said in a statement.
ABB would design, supply, install and commission the sub-stations as part of a turnkey solution. Key products to be supplied include switchgear, transformers, cables, fire protection and detection systems and a range of other power equipment.
