UniCredit, one of Europe’s leading financial services companies, has signed a three-year contract with Accenture, under which Accenture will provide a wide range of services to UniCredit’s IT organization in Italy, Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom. The contract, won following a competitive tendering process, is part of UniCredit’s broader efficiency-enhancement program, which the bank has launched to improve competitiveness.
The agreement is designed to provide UniCredit with a flexible technology delivery model, which will enable the company to quickly adapt to market and regulatory changes and reduce operating costs. Accenture will mobilize its highly-skilled professionals to ensure UniCredit successfully operates its IT environment in line with business demands.
“The ability to quickly adapt to a world that is constantly evolving is critical to future competitiveness,” said Francesco Donatelli, UniCredit Head of Group Procurement. “By teaming with Accenture, UniCredit ensures it has immediate access to the skill sets that are the best suited for achieving its business and technology performance goals, while reducing costs.”
“This agreement is a major milestone in our longstanding relationship with UniCredit and further reinforces our role as a strategic business partner,” said Michele Morelli, a managing director in Accenture's Financial Services operating group in Italy. “Accenture will deploy the best capabilities available globally to enable UniCredit to differentiate itself in the marketplace.”
