Published 20 Apr 2016

The Romanian banking player OTP Bank Romania has approved two credit lines worth RON 10 million (EUR 2.2 million) to the Romanian Post to help the company carry out its existing operations.

The lender, the Romanian arm of the Hungarian business OTP, has secured a public tender conducted by the national post operator in last October.

Apart from the bank, BCR and Bancpost also took part in the public tender in 2015.

Of the three proposals, the postal operator accepted just two bids.

The Romania Post will have to shell out fees and interest rate of EUR 245,000 to the local lender.

The contract has been settled through negotiations for the most cost-effective offer.
